Born and raised in Florida, Roger grew up surrounded by fresh produce and citrus trees growing in his backyard. This sparked his love of food from a very early age. Crediting his parents with teaching him the basics of cooking, these lessons became the foundation of a lifelong love affair with food. Focusing on his motto of, “simple food done well,” Roger took the passion he developed all those years ago and turned it into a thriving 17-year career in the culinary industry. After graduating from the Southeast Culinary Institute, Roger began cooking his way through the premier restaurants and clubs of St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Florida. His experiences have challenged him to develop cutting edge cuisine and create new and interesting flavor profiles. He continues to strive to make each meal he creates better than the last and he is happy to bring his experience, vision and talents to each Mai Oui event.
